What is Peace of Minds Yoga?

Peace of Minds Yoga is a fun day full of yoga classes, mental health presentations and group meditation.

Check-in starts at 8:30 am.

The first class will begin promptly at 9:00 am. The event will conclude at 4:00 pm.
Each class is approximately 50 minutes. There will be a 10 minute break between each class.

There will be lunch and light refreshments provided.

Why Yoga?

Yoga practice can have a positive impact on stress and contribute to overall mental health and physical wellness. With many studies showing its positive impact on coping with stress and managing symptoms. Yoga can:
  • Improve emotional stability, mental focus and concentration
  • Increase mental clarity and improve productivity, efficiency and creativity 
  • Provide greater self awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle 
  • Be effective at improving memory and concentration 
  • Help you improve self-awareness and cultivate a more nonjudgmental relationship with yourself 
Recognizing this link early, the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (SSO) created this event over 13 years ago and was the first organization to hold an annual yoga event.

Where does the money go?

Fundraising proceeds from Peace of Minds Yoga support the innovative programs and services of the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (SSO). These include family support, one-on-one counselling, education and research into solutions to improve the lives of people living with mental illness. Can anybody participate?

This event is open to the public and individuals of all abilities. 

What should I bring?

You should wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in.

Please bring a yoga mat & water bottle. A pair of indoor shoes or socks, is recommended, to wear in between classes. You may want to bring a small towel.
